Tom

"Sticks on skins, and fingers on frets" says Billy. I say, "Dude! What about lips on reeds?" It is true that guitars and drums are the main ingredients for a band, but the saxophone and harmonica's make a great side dish. How did food get into this story? Oh well, another day in the guitar world of rock n' roll. Yes I play reeds, the little tiny medal ones in harmonica's and the larger cane ones for the "saxamaphone" says Homer. I have been playing mostly under the radar since I was about 19 years old, and thats a while back. All the playing, gigging, and hanging out with friends, sort of ebbed, and flowed as time and desire allowed. In the early 90's, the flow gained momentum when I joined an original band with satirical punkish lyrics, and a garage band attitude, called The Norm. Later in 2010, we put together a Christmas satire called, "Santa Owns a Lincoln" which did get some local radio airplay. I then played with the Blues Disciples for a short stint, at their conception. Next followed the Tom and Jerry Show, featuring Covers from the Grateful Dead, and Van Morrison. On to the band, Wasabi, which ruled the basement. Then came Jumping Parker, with collaborators, Doug and Steve on guitars and keyboards. Oh yeah, not the least, but almost forgotten. A stint with the Shamrock Clubs Pipe Band, as the bass drummer, that made it to a St. Patricks Day parade in New York. And now to my favorite and present band, that has kept me Spellbound for 5 years and still holding, with no signs of letting up.

Equipment

I play a Jupiter Alto Saxophone, with a Dukoff D8 mouth piece and use soft La Voz reeds. I use a Shure SM57 microphone that is ran directly to our PA system, where my disired effects are added. For harmonica's, I found Horner Special 20's to be the hot ticket. Coupled with an Audix Fireball V microphone, played through a newly acquired 100 watt Vox Valvetronix amp, that has a variety of (Oh man, what did I get myself into) settings and possibilities. I like Shure SM58 microphones for vocals and I use Monster Cables.
